Whenever you’re working with HTML5 Canvas, there’s a really annoying security issue anytime you try and read the pixels of your canvas (for example: hit detection). Basically, it will error out, and force you to test on a web server, which is a pain. This affects all major browsers except Safari.
Grant Skinner posted a great fix for OSX:

Of course, since Windows 7 is a far superior OS, we can make it work much easier:
- Find your shortcut to Chrome and open Properties
- At the end of target path, add –disable-web-security
That is all. Now you always can test your pages locally, without any stupid web server. Thanks Grant!
